The Institute of Plant Production at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies has decided to expand its research infrastructure by setting up a customized “Demetra high-cube isothermal container” for experimental cultivation of various plant species. This initiative opens new opportunities to employ innovative techniques in vertical farming, aiming to deepen the study of the response of horticultural and floricultural species to variations in environmental and cultivation conditions.
The setup was made possible through the AGRITECH Project, part of the system initiatives under Mission 4, Component 2, Investment 1.4 “Strengthening research facilities and creating ‘national champions of R&D’ in key enabling technologies” of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
