How much does a DEMETRA cost?
DEMETRA solutions are designed to meet a wide range of requirements, from research and development to controlled environment production. For this reason, we offer both standard configurations and fully customized projects. Standard solutions start at approximately €30,000, while more advanced and customized configurations can exceed €200,000, depending on system size, level of automation, technological features, and project objectives.
No, we also lease our structures.
Does installing a DEMETRA system require permits?
It depends on the intended use, how long the installation will remain in place, and the size of the system. Depending on these factors, a simple notification may be sufficient, or a building permit may be required. Our recommendation? Always check with the relevant local authority.
How does GREATIT support its customers?
Greatit has a dedicated support team. We're with you from the moment you start thinking about purchasing DEMETRA, and we'll assist you with training, delivery, installation, launch, your first harvest, and beyond!
Who are GREATIT's customers?
Our customers include entrepreneurs, growers, companies, schools, universities, research centers, municipalities, non-profit organizations, and many more!
DEMETRA is a modular platform for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), designed for research and production in controlled environments and built within an intermodal container.
Apart from utility connections (water and electricity), installing DEMETRA only requires a clear area of 4 × 3 m, 7 × 3 m, or 13 × 3 m, depending on the DEMETRA model selected, with a surface strong enough to support its approximate gross weight of 2, 4, or 6 tonnes respectively (paving, concrete, rock, or compacted ground with steel plates are all suitable). DEMETRA is built from an intermodal container and is therefore literally designed to travel.
Is DEMETRA compatible with solar panels?
Yes. DEMETRA can also be powered by a suitably sized photovoltaic system, helping to reduce energy consumption from the grid.As a general reference, a DEMETRA 4 platform with a cultivation area of 56 m² has an average energy consumption of approximately 70 kWh/day, depending on the configuration and operating conditions.
Because we bring together different areas of expertise for a single goal: plant science, agronomy, engineering, and automation work together to design modular, flexible, and scalable CEA platforms. We support our customers at every stage of the journey, from experimentation to production, developing infrastructure designed to grow and evolve alongside the project. Because the future of cultivation needs solid foundations, and we build them to measure.
Are there any incentives for purchasing DEMETRA?
Certainly! DEMETRA is fully classified as both an agricultural machine and an Industry 5.0 machine. This means it qualifies for a wide range of subsidized financing opportunities.
