The Institute of Plant Sciences at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna has expanded its research facilities with the installation of a fully customized DEMETRA insulated High Cube container, designed for experimental cultivation of different plant varieties.
This initiative opens up new opportunities to apply innovative vertical farming techniques and investigate how horticultural and floricultural species respond to variations in environmental and growing conditions.
The installation was made possible through the AGRITECH Project, as part of Mission 4, Component 2, Investment 1.4 of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), aimed at strengthening research infrastructure and establishing national R&D champions in key enabling technologies. The project is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
We are honored to contribute to this project, which was officially inaugurated on Friday, October 11, at the Institute of Plant Sciences in San Giuliano Terme, Italy.
