Recycled Container

Greatit transforms shipping containers (40 or 20 feet) in vertical farms, drastically reducing the environmental risks of agriculture and land consumption, adapting them to different destinations (urban areas, difficult zones).

Configurable shelves

Cultivation on multiple stacked shelves, typical of Vertical Farming, maximises the efficiency of use of the base area and optimises individual resources per unit of occupied volume. Depending on the type of crops and how much you want to enhance the container, it is possible to increase or decrease the number of shelves.

Hydroponics and aeroponics

Inside Demetra, according to the type of crops and the needs of the client, it is possible to cultivate with aeroponic or hydroponic techniques, or even both. These techniques, combined with environmental control, allow to increase the quantity and quality of the product compared with those of conventional agriculture.

DEMETRA can ensure the perfect growth of hundreds of vegetable species such as: MEDICINAL HERBS, SAFFRON, HEMP, MUSHROOMS, MICROGREENS, FLOWERS, SEEDLINGS FOR TRANSPLANTING AND GRAFTING

Light system

We use LED lights, with two possible spectrums, fixed and variable. With both fixed and variable spectrum lamps it is possible to dim the luminous flux. Variable spectrum lamps allow to modify the individual wavelengths, thus creating your own customised spectrum.

Light amount

The objective of the lighting in DEMETRA is to give plants the perfect quality and quantity of light depending on the vegetative phase and typology, making the most out of every crop. In the design phase, based on the crops we choose led lamps that ensure the best light spectrum and uniformity.

Irrigation system

Inside DEMETRA we employ out-of-soil cultivation techniques: our structure, in fact, can be arranged with both hydroponic and aeroponic systems (NFT, Ebb and Flow, trickle, etc.). Applying these techniques optimises production, resets pesticides and herbicides usage, and eventually grants a water saving of 90% in comparison with the same cultivation in a non-controlled environment.

Fertigation system

(A+PH, A+B+Ph, A+B+C+ph etc)
Inside DEMETRA our plants grow thanks to the action of nutrient-enriched water from our special fertigation system. We created a professional fertigation plant, modular and at the same time proportionate to the size of the container: this lets us manage optimally the nutritive solution.

Climate system

The components of DEMETRA's air conditioning (heat pumps, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, fans, valves) work in synergy to recreate the perfect climate for every type of cultivation.

365 perfect days

Plants can prosper inside a completely isolated container regardless of the external environment: harsh weather, narrow urban centres and extreme meteorological conditions have no effect on the plants growing on the inside.

Customisations

DEMETRA is a structure customisable in its entirety. Inside DEMETRA it is possible to separate the areas (cleaning, work, production), to place a germinator to start from the seed, to insert a work table or a washbasin, to increase the number of sensors.

DEMETRA Tailor-made

Our team works starting from the requirements, subsequently moving to the project, to get to a structure tailored to the customer. The purpose is to better understand the needs of the client, creating a custom-made configuration.

Sensor technology

Inside our container we manage all environmental and technical parameters, check, monitor and supervise every piece of equipment and climatic value of the cell (Temperature, UR%, Ventilation, R/A, Lighting, Irrigation, Fertigation, etc.).

Control software

The user is able to manage all the environmental parameters with the software DEMETRACONTROL, which through a web browser (from remote pc, smartphone, tablet or app) allows for a quick and simple management. Thanks to sensors and dataloggers, DEMETRACONTROL quantifies and stores in a timely fashion the water and electricity consumption, and returns images from the inside through a high-resolution camera in order to check the structure and monitor the status of the plants.

Structure placement

Place the container on a horizontal plane able to guarantee adequate support to the container itself; there are no restrictions on the nature of the slab (concrete, reinforced concrete, stabilised concrete, etc.), but we recommend a competent technician evaluate the nature of the ground where the container will be positioned to identify the best solution. To ensure the horizontality of the container, it is not necessary to install the entire container on the plane, but it is enough to place the 4 head blocks on a surface of the same height. The container is entirely powered by electricity, thus 100% compatible with renewable energy sources.
